140 reasons to be excited

Just had to come on and do an update. Those Care Bears in my last post all sold for a total of  $140. I paid $11 for all of them. I'm so excited. The next week at the GW Pound Store I found more Care Bears with the tags still attached. I paid 46 cent for about 10 of the small Care Bears. I haven't posted those on Ebay yet but I will.

I'm so excited, I just can't hide it.

I'm so excited. It was the best thrift day ever. I don't have a happy dance but I was so happy that I almost created one. Let me show you what I got.

I got three New Care Bears in box with VHS tape and I also got six Care Bears (four not photographed) with tags. Total for my new friends were $11.  If you are wondering, yes that is a iittala candlestick holder. It set me back a whole $1.99. The candlestick holder I found has six rings and retails for $60 on iittala website. The purse is Gianni Bini and it cost 2.99. O.K. I'm going to make up a happy dance as I go post my GW finds on ebay.

Fruit of the Room

This picture jumped into my shopping cart. I truthfully think it just had to go home with me. For 2.99 I couldn't tell it no. So now it's hanging over my dining table. I love it. I don't know why I had to have it but I'm glad I brought it.

Round and Round My Mind It Goes

Earlier this month we went to New Orleans and here are a few of my finds. I saw the picture at a thrift store but the store only took cash and checks. I was carrying neither so I decided I didn't need it. Two hours later as we were touring New Orleans I couldn't get the picture out of my mind. I really wanted it. My wonderful boyfriend took me to the bank and took me back to the thrift store. I'm happy we went back. I adore it.

These are two dresses and three cups I found. The cashier only charged me for one of the cups so all three were .99cent. Below is a close of one of the cups. Too adorable

My thrifty outfit

I wanted to come on and share a picture I took of my recent thrifted outfit. I bought the dress, belt and purse at the goodwill pound store. I think all three of them might have been a little more the $3.00. The shirt I got from a regular goodwill for $3.99. I think i did well for my money. This picture is from yesterday of me in New Orleans.

Finding what you are looking for....priceless

I have been searching for a picture to go over my dining room table for awhile. I didn't know what I was looking for but I knew I would know it when I saw it. Today, I saw it. It sat in the corner at Goodwill with two other pictures blocking the view of it. When I moved the other pictures out of the way, I knew I found what I had been searching for. The problem with the Goodwill here is art is always priced to high, atleast for it being donated art. I have seen pictures range from 24.95 to 50.00. I expected no less for this picture but I was going to pay whatever price tag said. Luckily the tag said 7.95. Lucky me. I would add a picture to the this blog but having problems adding one.

Everything at the Flea Market is coming up roses

I have been selling Southern Crossing Antique Store for 3 weeks now and have earned about $84 dollars. I'm only aiming for $100 a month after expenses so i need to sell a lot this week.  Sunday I went to find things for my booth and I found some really great items. I found the Pyrex bowl pictured and it was only .25. I also found an Fenton glass slipper from same seller for .50 but the item is already in my booth so it's not pictured. I was so shocked when they told me the price. I was bowled over when they gave me both items for 75 cents. Do you ever feel like you are cheating people when you know the value of an item they are selling and they don't? Anyways, I went back to same booth an hour later to make sure i didn't miss anything good and it seemed as if they wised up in one hour. Things were now around the five dollar range.  Dang, who gave them access to the Internet in that one hour so they can check prices? The refrigerator dish was .50 and the mixer was 10.00 from a different seller. It was a good day and everything was coming up roses.  Lets hope the same for next week.

Today's Haul

Today I found some really good things. I went to Ramona Flea Market and to Goodwill. At goodwill I got two Pyrex bowls (59 cent each), 4 coasters (99cent), and a Mccoy Bowl (59cent). At Ramona Flea Market I found vintage kids books and coloring books for 50 cent each. I got 2 pins and a bracelet for $1.00 each and a pyrex bowl for 1.00. Brought 4 Berlin coasters for 1.00. It was really a good day. I'm going to be selling things at an antique store starting Feb 1. Hope they like the things I found as much as I do.

All in a days work

This is a bowl by Fred Press. Looks smaller in the picture but it's actually a good size bowl.
Pyrex. $3.00. My motto is "No Pryrex left behind." Plus it was 3 dollars.
Corning Ware piggy bank. tails a little chipped but they go for as much as $100.00 on ebay.
Cera Glassware. I don't really know much about this company but i like the glasses.
